I've been using TGIF and BM for years now so I decided to branch out and try some of the other DMR networks. Right now I am trying to learn DMR+. Since we are using a hotspot I assume we are restricted to using the reflectors only and not the talkgroups themselves?

With the screen saver enabled it will still sit at the idle screen forever. With the scroll turned on it's at least scrolling the idle screen information (which is better than nothing).

Has the logo screensaver been depreciated? I have it enabled but it never kicks in. It always shows the idle screen when not in use. I turned on scrolling for now so it doesn't burn the screen in.

Could someone smarter than me provide an example of how to use TGIF normally, and a require talkgroup rewrite, to use Brandmeister please? I have a talkgroup on TGIF, using my DMR ID, and it's not accessible when using a talkgroup rewrite for TGIF.

According to this https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/pistar.uk.html it can't connect either. Says it's down for everyone.

If you decide to change the port pistar uses, use 8080 it's already opened in the firewall. Otherwise you'll need to edit the iptables for whatever port you choose to pass through the firewall.

ie listen 8080 default_server;

Thanks. I'm still just as lost as I was in the beginning though. I learned how to setup the DMR Gateway because there were tutorials. If this was explained I could probably catch on pretty quick.
