Re: very high BER (~13%)

Hi, The HT TX is at 146.0391MHz (had to use in analog mode to keep it active long enough to get a reading), the RX is programmed for 146.040 MHz/156.7. So you are 900Hz off. I'd think that's to much. Please make sure, that your TX and RX are on the correct frequencies. This means measure the frequen...

Re: very high BER (~13%)

Hi, Tried changing the RX offset from 1000 down to -1000, Tried changing the RX level from 5% to 100%, With the design of the repeaterbuilder boards you can't change RX or TX frequency by the modem. The modem is pure audio processing. Please check your external radio for correct Rx and TX frequencie...

Re: Different Reflector Setting in /root/XLXHosts.txt not working

Have checked my Example above by putting those lines into a small script on my linux box:

It works exactly as I understand it: It changes only the "xlxroom"-Number in /usr/local/etc/XLXHosts.txt

Re: Different Reflector Setting in /root/XLXHosts.txt not working

Hi all, I've found some lines in /usr/local/sbin/HostFilesUpdate.sh which are overwriting /usr/local/etc/XLXHosts.txt with the content of /root/XLXHosts.txt: # If there is an XLX over-ride if [ -f "/root/XLXHosts.txt" ]; then while IFS= read -r line; do if [[ $line != \#* ]] && [[ $line = *";"* ]] t...

Re: HostFilesUpdate.sh is broken on IPv6 caipable networks

Hi, The "fix" is to add a `-4` flag to the `curl` calls in `/usr/local/sbin/HostFilesUpdate.sh` to **explicitly** tell `curl` not to use IPv6 when performing the fetch. I would NOT vote for locking this curl call to IPv4 only. This would break the option to migrate seamlessly to IPv6 in the future. ...

Re: VPN with Pi-Star

There is nothing to add. Andrew explained everything "pi-star special" to implement your own firewall rules.
I've done it the same way.

You have to know, with which protocol and on which port(s) your vpn software is communicating. Maybe you will find this in the documentation of your vpn software.

Re: VPN with Pi-Star

Hi Bill,

I'm using OpenVPN with my Pi-Star 3 based repeater since several months here. No problems so far.
It can easily installed via "apt-get install ...". After the configuration you have to modify the firewall rules of Pi-Star to let the daemon communicate.

Re: HD44780 LCD support compiled in?

Hi w7efs, Examine the "MMDVM Display Type:" pull-down menu in the "MMDVMHost Configuration" section of the Configuration page. If your display type is listed there then your answer is "yes". Are you really sure? I can't believe this, because there are three things: - If I use the original mmdvmhost ...

Re: HD44780 LCD support compiled in?

Good news:

The Display is now working. Forgot a GND wire to the displays R/W pin...

So there is one question left:

Is the mmdvmhost version, contained in Pi-Star, compiled with HD44780 support?

HD44780 LCD support compiled in?

Hi, I've connected a HD4478 LCD module to my Raspberry Pi 2 which is running Pi-Star. The wiring is done like described in https://github.com/g4klx/MMDVMHost/blob/master/README.HD44780 . I'm not using I2c. But it isn't working. https://forum.pistar.uk/posting.php?mode=post&f=3# The Display shows not...
