Re: I have to reimage my SD card after unplugging

I implemented the shutdown command in the codeplug, and use that before unplugging the power from the hotspot. See my writeup https://w2xq.com/bm-ar-pistar.html#remote on my website. HTH.

Re: 4.1 rc4 > rc5 problem?

Thanks to Toshen's suggestion of running the sudo pistar-expand, it cleared the problem. Rerunning upgrade? No error message. Good to go. Memo to self. Get up to speed on some linux and sudo commands.

4.1 rc4 > rc5 problem?

On a pi0 Jumbospot, I had an error moving to rc5 but I don't know if is significant. This occurred on both a 16gb and a 32gb card (both SanDisk class 10). What if anything, am I doing wrong? From the Expert menu... ---- Starting upgrade, please wait... Detected Pi-Star 4.1.0-RC4 running on RPi hardw...

Re: color hex code for the dashboard???

Expert Editor CSS Tool After looking at a number of color code pages, I found https://www.somacon.com/p142.php has a wide variety of colors to pick from. Configuration > Expert > CSS Tool > Background > Banners I chose to only change the Background: Banners. These are the colors I have looked at. 00...

Re: Pi-Star 4.1 RC# Backup Restore

If you made color changes to the Pi-Star pages (using CSS Tools) those changes are not saved in a backup. I keep a text file handy to copy/paste the values, rather than repeatedly comb through a color chart.

Re: WIFI Configuration

If you are having trouble connecting to your WiFi in the house and the hotspot in the car, it may be easier to build a file to drop on the SD card. You can do so here.

Re: Pi-Star not connecting to Talk Groups

I think you'll find the v4 to be worthy of the upgrade. Whether staying on Brandmeister or going to TGIF, you have to get to the configuration page. From the Dashboard, go to the Configuration "tab" and log in. Unless you have changed the defaults, user is "pi-star" and password ...

Re: Pi-Star not connecting to Talk Groups

I have an MD-UV380 too. Perhaps these notes -- http://w2xq.com/bm-ar-dmr.html#uv380-notes -- may be of assistance. It is a bit difficult to diagnose your failure to connect to talkgroups. Some ideas. 1. Change your DMR Master to a different server. I opted to go offshore to a European server as the ...

Re: PC not seeing my Hotspot

See KE0FHS' https://amateurradionotes.com/pi-star-updates.htm#upgrading4 for a step-by-step how to move from v3 to v4. Then from the Dashboard > Configuration > Expert and do the upgrade and update as described above. I found the most consuming time was downloading the v4 image, then the rest of the...
