XLX and D-Star questions - educate me please
I was poking around on my clubs website and found that we have a multimode digital repeater that I can probably hit. I'm running an Anytone 578 and use analog and DMR through my vertical antenna. But, I also have a Pi-star hotspot that I have set up so I can cross platform from DMR to YSF and TGIF ...

Re: DMR to TGIF not working
Just a guess, but make certain the TGIF password you're using for that stanza is the one generated under "User Security" on the TGIF website (IE "Hotspot Security Key"), NOT the one you use with your callsign to log into the website.
If you are using that long (22 characters, I think?) security ...

DMR to TGIF not working
I kept getting a yellow light for DMR Net and finally figured out that it was a malfunction with the TGIF connection. When I shut TGIF off in the DMR commands on the Expert screen the DMR Net light stays green. When I checked the log it tells me that

Re: Do I need a prefix for DMR talkgroups?
OK, I got it working! I shut off Brandmeister on the pistar configuration dashboard and went back into my codeplug for my radio. I added an "8" before each talkgroup number, reloaded the codeplug into the radio and it all worked perfectly. I still have Brandmeister shut off at this point but I can ...

Re: Do I need a prefix for DMR talkgroups?
Thanks Kevin, that helps a lot! I was under the impression that a connection to Brandmeister was required in order to use DMR. Apparently not! The only BM repeater near me, and I can't reach it anyway, is Cannon Mountain. I use the Gunstock repeater which is DMR-MARC. What you explained is probably ...

Re: Do I need a prefix for DMR talkgroups?
Sorry for the confusion. I have a hotspot that only the 878 HT is programmed to use. I also have a 578 that I use as my base radio that is programmed to hit the DMR repeater directly so it's two different radios.
When I try to transmit on the 878 on a DMR talkgroup I should be able to hear my ...

Do I need a prefix for DMR talkgroups?
I have my Anytone 878 programmed to work with my generic MMDVM/Pi Zero for DMR2YSF (which works perfectly) and to DMR+ and Brandmeister. When I try to reach a DMR talkgroup, for example TG 3133 which is New Hampshire Statewide, the transmission shows up on my pistar dashboard and it shows up on the ...

Re: DMR/Brandmeister issues
The PC and TG settings I have in there are based on a recommendation from a website to set up for DMR2YSF.
Then they belong in the network associated with DMR2YSF.
In the section you currently have them in it is only dealing with BM, and again its my understanding that nothing needs to ...

Re: DMR/Brandmeister issues
Thanks, you're still pointing me in the right direction though, I appreciate it! I did find what the yellow DMR Net issue was, the BM password changed back to the old one again. Once I changed it to the current PW it turn DMR Net green.
K, that makes sense.
Again if you ever click apply ...
