Re: Set timing shutdown function

Well... one could emphasize what you stated -- failed to edit it using the sudo crontab -e command DESCRIPTION crontab is the program used to install, deinstall or list the tables used to drive the cron(8) daemon in Vixie Cron. Each user can have their own crontab, and though these are files in /var...

Re: Are there new WiFi limitations on V4 RC2?

I've found the solution!! The issue was the fact that my AP was not broadcasting the SSID. I know this isn't foolproof security but it keeps me under the radar of the script-kiddies. Pi-star had no issues with my long password or the special characters in the password. I wonder if this is a problem...

Explain what you mean, that isn't handled by "sudo shutdown..."? NAME shutdown - Halt, power-off or reboot the machine SYNOPSIS shutdown [OPTIONS...] [TIME] [WALL...] DESCRIPTION shutdown may be used to halt, power-off or reboot the machine. Re: Copy existing SD card to a new setup?

Heh... the Windows version, at least, hasn't shown a "read" mode in all the versions I've used -- and I think my oldest was something like v0.9.

Re: Request help with DMR setup and code plug for Anytone

Silly question but have you registered (or whatever they call it) the hotspot with BM?

Re: Copy existing SD card to a new setup?

If you want to save the entire card and not just the backups... Both Etcher and win32 disk imager have the ability to read a card as well as writing the card so you can read and then save the whole card image to write back to a new card. <blink><blink> When did Etcher add a read card to file featur...

Re: DMR Manager

The key factor is that Brandmeister itself provides the API that allows client code to make such changes.

Unless DMR+ provides an API for /its/ system, it is unlikely that pi-star can implement the function. How do you change DMR+ reflector currently?

Re: Dashboard Login Issue - PC

Are both Win10 computers part of the same network? What IP numbers are assigned to /them/ (Of course M$, in its wisdom, had to rename the common ifconfig command to ipconfig) C:\Users\Wulfraed>ipconfig Windows IP Configuration Ethernet adapter Ethernet: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : attlocal.ne...

Re: SFTP to filesystem

If you really want it, you can probably create a root password (sudo passwd). There may be some other setting to prevent root login, besides not having a password defined ( https://www.techrepublic.com/article/how-to-prevent-root-login-on-your-linux-servers/ implies that the password file is configu...

Re: Pi-Star and BeagleBone

Fair enough! I was curious as I've heard the BBB is a more robust device and offers a lot more expandability. It has more I/O peripherals (PWM, ADC, CAN) which can be configured on various pins, unlike the R-Pi which is, for the most part, just digital GPIO and serial UARTs. However, one may have t...
