Re: Pi-Star v4.0.0 RC2 - available
When Adri, PE1BVU, mentioned that he installed Samba so he could transfer files from his Windows computer, I thought “Why not?” I was happy to discover that Samba is already installed in RC2 so all you need to do is configure it. After a few google searches I found an article about configuring Samba...

Re: pistar-findmodem
Oops. Why did I think not running as root would work when the other pistar-scripts need to? Hardening of the aptitudes, I guess. Running under sudo detects all. Thanks!

Re: pistar-findmodem
It found my Nextion 3.5” enhanced screen correctly, but that was all....did not list my modem or other info. Since it’s not a board from Florian, et. al., I assume that’s why. My specs, if needed: Jumbospot, early 2017 version, 14.7465 MHz, on Pi Zero W. FW HS_Hat V.1.4.14. — Pi-Star 3.4.16. — Dashb...

Re: What version of pistar on pi b+ and pi 3 b+
When PS 4 comes out, will it be installable via the Pi-Star system (e.g. pistar-update/upgrade) or should I get ready to DL and burn a new image? Thought I’d read some speculation that PS 4 would be upgradeable from within. Regardless of the answer, I’m happy that I decided to migrate to Pi-Star som...

Re: Firefox Problems
You’ve pretty well covered the waterfront on things I would have thought of, John. The problems I was having were with Safari on an iPad, so I was just guessing about Firefox, though Firefox is the browser I use on both Linux and WIn10. Haven’t yet had the problem there. For what it’s worth, the pro...

Re: Firefox Problems
You might have some success if you clear the cache on FireFox. It might be that FIreFox has cached the Dashboard page and is showing you the cached page rather than reconnecting to Pi-Star and reloading the dashboard. Once you clear the cache you may have to use the IP address to reconnect with Pi-S...

Re: Problem Installing ON7LDS Nextion Driver
Walter, when you say you don’t get the full function, do you mean—for example—that the reboot and shutdown buttons don’t do anything? If that’s the case, it’s because connecting via the modem connection won’t work for those functions. I had to change over to USB for those to work. There’s supposed t...

There needs to be a space between the command and the target. Thus: cd<space>/tmp

Re: NextionDriver vanished !
Gary, not sure if this is the procedure you want, take with a grain of salt. I used it to get the entry “/dev/ttyNextionDriver” into the drop down menu on my config page. Another Forum user posted it some weeks ago. SSH rpi-rw (may not be necessary since the next command puts you temporarily in supe...

Re: Latest Firmware?
That script updated my Jumbo to 1.4.12, Gary. And since that same script updates the HS Hat boards from Germany, I believe it will continue to be useful for the Jumbo boards too. If your Jumbo is one of the newer ones with a different crystal frequency, there is a variant of the update script just f...
