Re: Pi-Star 4.2.1 Upgrade
HB9FUH: I had exactly the same problem with the same hat and same Pi ZeroW v.1.1. After several frustrating attempts to upgrade I finally decided to get a new SanDisk 64Gig microSD card. I had been reluctant to do that because of the cost and because I have several microSD cards that are not in use....

% Free sd card space drops with 4.2.1 upgrade
Prior to upgrading this morning to 4.2.1, my 64 GB sd card would always show on the Nextion as having around 97% free space. It shows 33% free after the upgrade. The CPU temp is also in the amber range on the dashboard, whereas it ran cooler under 4.1.8 and earlier installs. Is this to be expected d...

Re: How to autologin to dashboard
Thank you Eric. It was as simple as I remembered, if only I’d remembered…
I took a screenshot which I’ll print and save for the next time I have to start from scratch.

How to autologin to dashboard
Years ago there was an edit to some pi-star file to bypass the login to the dashboard. It involved commenting out a line or two in one of the files. I recently had to reimage my SD card and now am again having to enter the login and password to access the dashboard. I know it’s not by running raspi-...

Re: Hello from Newport, Oregon
Welcome, Ron. Hope you have fun with DMR. It almost begins to make sense after awhile, speaking as a non-engineer. You’ll grab on to it quickly. It’s a kick, sitting an an easy chair with a dinky HT that could barely make it to a repeater (if there was a live one nearby) and talking around the world...

Re: Hello everyone
Hello and welcome, Chris. I think you’ll like the way DMR opens up the world to you the way only HF used to be able to do. It can seem like a miracle to be sitting in your favorite chair talking on a handheld radio to someone half the world away. Enjoy!

I agree, Jason, and I’ll add that your contributions are valued too. Between you and Toshen lots of good info gets passed along. Thank you both.

Re: WiFi Dongle Not Supported
Don’t know if this will help, but have you tried to bring up the wireless interface manually? SSH in, then run “ifup wlan0”. If no luck try a 1 instead of a zero (wlan0 may be for an onboard wifi interface). If you get a message that the interface is up, then you can see if the config screen in pi-s...

Re: Pi-Star v4.0.0 RC2 - available
When Adri, PE1BVU, mentioned that he installed Samba so he could transfer files from his Windows computer, I thought “Why not?” I was happy to discover that Samba is already installed in RC2 so all you need to do is configure it. After a few google searches I found an article about configuring Samba...

Re: pistar-findmodem
Oops. Why did I think not running as root would work when the other pistar-scripts need to? Hardening of the aptitudes, I guess. Running under sudo detects all. Thanks!
