Re: SSL Support

Thanks for putting this together!!! It looks very comprehensive.

I'm going to give it a try and will let you know if there are any issues.

Re: SSL Support

FYI - that article I shared in my last post talks about making changes to the firewall to open 443/tcp for HTTPS. The firewall on Debian is ufw. Pi-Star uses iptables - not ufw. There’s an article on the Pi-Star wiki that covers how to add custom firewall rules: http://wiki.pistar.uk/Adding_custom_f...

Re: SSL Support

Nope. If you want to set up SSL support, you have to do it yourself. You can pretty much use any documentation on enabling SSL on Nginx as Nginx is the web server running on Pi-Star. You may want to just use OpenSSL to generate a self-signed certificate if you go through the process. LetsEncrypt is ...

Anyone Still Running the Pi-Star Mobile Dashboard?

A while ago, K9NPX made an add-on to Pi-Star available via his website. I'm looking to see if anyone out there is still running it on one of their older Pi-Star hotspots. If so, please contact me directly - my contact information is accurate on QRZ.com. It was brilliant! Reformat pages in the Pi-Sta...

Re: MobileGPS

I own an inexpensive USB GPS that I bought on Amazon.com. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QRGK7ZK/ I connected it to Pi-Star (after upgrading to 4.1.2 of course), then enabled the Mobile GPS service, set it to use /dev/ttyACM0 and speed 4800 (default tries to use 38400 which is WAY too high for...

Re: crazyhorse.network - New Entry in DMR_Hosts.txt

I couldn't agree more with you!!! The number of DMR networks and talkgroups within the networks has grown completely out of control and is absolutely ABSURD! Everyone in their brother wants their own talkgroup - and why? Because of the exclusivity? Because it's cool? It does nothing but add to the f...

Re: Duplex Hat & DMR Gateway Setup Guide

Funny you ask - I was curious about how rewrite rules work and someone pointed me to this the other day: https://github.com/g4klx/DMRGateway/wiki/Rewrite-Rules DMR Gateway is a classic example of something that requires "tribal knowledge". There seem to be a few people around that know of ...
