Re: How to autologin to dashboard

I think this is what you're looking for - taken from wiki.pistar.uk, which no longer seems to be active. --------------------------- How to disable the password prompt on the dashboard. 1. SSH into your Pi-Star 2. Make the disk writable pi-star@pi-star(ro):~$ rpi-rw pi-star@pi-star(rw):~$ 3. Edit th...

Re: The security of the DMR repeater from unregistered users.

Whilst the idea of filtering un-registered users is a reasonable one, it does really go against the concept of amateur radio, which is to be open to all licensed users. Unfortunately there's no real way to prevent unlicensed users as can be witnessed on many analogue channels/repeaters. Aside from t...

Re: DMR Linux question

Whilst this isn't direcly connected to Pi-star, I can offer some info that the OP may find helpful. Briefly - 'cos it is/can be a complex process - but a definite YES to running the cps's using a virtual machine on Linux. I use Virtual Box running W-10 on Linux Mint (Mate edition) As for running the...

Re: <RESOLVED> V4.1.5 MMDVM DMR Repeater dropouts?

Cheers Andy, thanks for the thought. Worth considering. All options are open at the moment, including changing the radio hardware as a possible last resort.

Re: <RESOLVED> V4.1.5 MMDVM DMR Repeater dropouts?

Marking post as <resolved> as after much thought it seems more likely to be a radio issue rather than a Pistar one.

Re: V4.1.5 MMDVM DMR Repeater dropouts?

Thanks for the reply. At this time it was more of a general enquiry from me to see if others had had an issue with the current release, rather than looking for anything specific, but I appreciate the points you raised, so thank you for that guidance. Obviously more detective work is needed and other...

Re: What is the correct method to drop a TG on Phoenix?

For those of you who have asked in the past about forcing a disconnection of a user activated TG on the Phoenix network (as in group call to TG4000 on Brandmeister) rather than having to wait for the 15min auto-timeout, I'm pleased to say that such a facility does indeed exist and apparently has bee...

<RESOLVED> V4.1.5 MMDVM DMR Repeater dropouts?

Very much clutching at straws here, just in case anyone has had a similar issue. Newly commissioned MMDVM based repeater running DMR only with Pi-star V4.1.5. Occasionally the box will drop carrier during a transmission on receive and then be unobtainable for incoming RF transmissions on either slot...

Re: update loop, update fails

Is it confirmed that the 4.1.5 image now available for download is without the loop issue?

Thanks - Eric G6FGY

Re: What is the correct method to drop a TG on Phoenix?

Generally on Phoenix, if there's already a User Activated (UA) TG in existance (or indeed static ones), there are 'hold-off' timers that will prevent the existing one from taking over if another one is set up.. It's a very short hold-off though, something like 10 seconds. However you need to take in...
