Well my problem went away after I upgraded to the Pi-Star_RPi_V3.4.16_24-Dec-2018 image and reinstalled the NextionDriver. I've now got it working properly. (fingers crossed!)

THANK YOU to everyone who helped me with this issue!! I finally got it working. It turns out I had to run a jumper wire from one of the 5v GPIO pins on the ZumSpot board. Also, my understanding is that I have to configure the MMDVM Host configuration Display: Type = Nextion, port = modem and then select a Nextion layout from the drop down selection. Making progress using the USB to TTL converter - no luck using the microSD cards 10 (16GB SanDisk ultra plus micro 10). I was able to put a TFT file up on the nextion screen, but it isn't functional. I think I am good to go at this point, just got find a good TFT for my Nextion display NX4832K035_01...

That is good to hear Gene. Thank you. I was just on TGIF and heard that another ham couldn’t get his to work using the SD card but it worked with the USB to TTL converter. I have one of those and going to try it

Well then I would guess the CR1220 battery needs to be in the battery slot! Without one in there, it displays "Resource filebinver is error! 99 1" No one around has those batteries and I'm waiting on a shipment from Amazon. Hopefully this is the last obstacle!

Yes I do have the board RX going to the screen TX and Board TX going to screen RX.
