Re: Jumbo Spot - connectivity problems to http://pi-star
Update: While waiting for a cable to do a hard connect to my router, I decided to give it one more try with another wall wart - and it worked. The router recognized the JumboSpot. Strange, because it only had 1.0 A, while another wall wart had higher amperages. Lesson: make sure you have a good wall...

Re: Jumbo Spot - connectivity problems to http://pi-star
Just an update - ordered online micro USB to LAN cable. Guessing it will be a while for delivery. Could not find one here at the local computer stores. In the meantime, making attempt to flash image onto new SD card - still figuring this one out, watching instruction video at the admin section. Goin...

Re: Jumbo Spot - connectivity problems to http://pi-star
Thank you, sir. Well, looks like I will order one of these or check my stash of cables.
Will provide updates when I make further attempts at this... back to work...
Again, thank you all for your expertise.

Re: Jumbo Spot - connectivity problems to http://pi-star
Thanks, Gene - I have Cat-5 with jack to goto LAN port on router, but on other end, to Jumbo spot, I would have to find appropriate jack for that, meaning soldering, cutting, etc. Right? I don't even know what the larger female input jack on the Jumbo spot is. Not specified in the data sheets that c...

Re: Jumbo Spot - connectivity problems to http://pi-star
Status: Tried USB wall wart with 2.4A - still no go. (recopied to SD config file before doing this). So, either the SD card is bad and/or my router is just simply not recognizing the Jumbo spot - this is my deduction from someone new to this. Possible solutions? 1. Reflash new "image" onto...

Toshen: Thanks - that is very good info to know. I will copy config file again to boot: in my next attempt. ----- KG4IES: "in my case the cell phone charger power supply just did not make enough current to run the hotspot. I have a 2.5 amp supply on the way to correct this situation" This ...

Re: Jumbo Spot - connectivity problems to http://pi-star
Thank you - again - both. It is appreciated. N9MXQ: "wifi password has special characters, Pi-star will not connect." No special characters, just standard alphanumerics, no spaces, etc. AF6VN: "Connect to your router's admin screen(s) and find out what IP# it has distributed to what M...
