Re: Can not log in on Config page!

Are you forgetting the dash in "pi-star"?

If you're not enabling access to your web server/dashboard beyond your local network you can disable the password as well.

Re: Raspberry Pi 4

The latest firmware updates have improved the Pi 4 quite a bit to where if you have a good case and heat sinks you should be alright. Notice that you can reduce the temperature by 2C by just changing its orientation. It would be nice to see the orientation trick get adopted by case designs with prop...

Re: My Pi Star cannot be located on network

Maybe the web server had an issue after an update and didn't restart properly. Have you tried rebooting? I've had weird times where I couldn't SSH into it or pull up the dashboard while mmdvmhost was still running. A reboot would fix the issue as long as nothing was wrong with the micro SD card.

Re: SD card says write protected in W10

Windows 10 is not great with SD cards unless you get into the command line. A better choice is using a Linux machine. BTW, I found a neat utility for checking SD cards called F3 available from Linux repos. You can use f3probe to test a card (limited test). You can also combine f3write and f3read to ...

Re: V4 still Beta?

Andy is still actively working on Pi-Star. If you'd like to get to know Andy you can listen to a good interview here: https://lhspodcast.info/2019/09/lhs-episode-301-pi-star-deep-dive-part-1/ And he shows up on the Pi-Star multi-reflector available from all modes, XLX reflectors, BM 31672....: https...

Re: Callsign DB update

It looks like the script you'd want to run is /usr/local/sbin/HostFilesUpdate.sh. You could make a script to run rpi-rw, run HostFilesUpdate.sh, then put the drive back to read only with rpi-ro. And of course, you could copy out just the parts of that script you wanted to run as well.

Re: Tac talkgroups can no longer be added as static?

I'm not on facebook either, but they don't appear to be making any formal announcements on what they are doing. I've checked their twitter, their website, and nothing but silence on the matter. I have no idea what they are doing. I heard 2nd hand info that one of the Admins said there is a 15 minut...

Re: Tac talkgroups can no longer be added as static?

Yeah, looks like now 310-319 are not able to be set as static now, my list keeps getting smaller and smaller. I wonder how long it'll take for them to realize that the same issues they had on 310 are just going to return on 3100. XD I'm not on Facebook, so I think I might be missing some Brandmeist...

Re: CPU Temperature

With hot weather having come, my unit was getting a bit warm and in the orange again. Easy solution if you have the C4Labs DVMega case is to get the maker focus Pi fan. I soldered the wires to a USB connector for 5v power and placed it between the top and bottom cover on the back pushing air in thro...
