Re: Is Pi-Star dead? No releases for 12 months

Allowing Bookworm OS updates breaks things fairly well, I was wondering if this could be looked at but I appreciate that the devs are busy people.

I can agree with that. The beta image (4.3.0) works pretty well before you do any OS updates. Afterwards, in my case, the hat board I am using no ...

Re: 4.3.0 Beta feedback

I tried the re-spin, made a fresh SD card. Still will not see the original ZumSpot. Here is the pertinent part of the MMDVM log:

E: 2024-02-17 15:40:19.363 Cannot get the control attributes for /dev/ttyAMA0

Re: 4.3.0 Beta feedback

Here's an odd one.... I run my NXDN hotspot on an RPi3B with one of the original ZumSpot boards. When I went to the first beta (4.2.0), I used the board firmware update feature to bump the Zum up to V1.6.1, which worked perfectly. And the hotspot worked well with that beta. But when 4.3.0 came out ...

SSH, Dashboard access and IRC GatewayDB Remote now permanantly public?

I was looking at all four of my PiStar hotspots this morning, and noticed at the bottom of each Configuration screen these access controls are now all set to Public , and cannot be changed back to Private . Since I don't have UPnP enabled, no one is getting through my firewall anyway, But I was ...

Re: PiStar and BM issues

Address=3102.repeater.net

I don't see 3102.repeater.net in the DMR_Hosts.txt file.

Change it to:

Address=3102.master.brandmeister.network

And then load the ADMIN dashboard. I think a recent change from the IP address to the hostname is what is causing the BM API to not be displayed ...

Re: PiStar and BM issues

I've also noticed another thing.

Name=BM_3102

The name you have is not current. It should be listing "BM_3102_United_States". When is the last time you ran an update? Your DMR_Hosts.txt file is outdated, or no longer being updated for some reason.

What version of Pi-star are you on?

4.1 ...

PiStar and BM issues

May be unrelated, but here is what I see using DMR Gateway with a very simple "Pass All" set of rules as follows. (I have two DMR radios and don't need complicated re-write rules).

[DMR Network 1]
Enabled=1
Name=BM_3102
Address=3102.repeater.net
Id=(my ID)
PassAllTG=2
PassAllPC=2
Password=(my ...

Re: Split frequencies for a duplex hotspot now illegal on BM?

Something similar described in this thread:

I don't really know much about your network splitting comment, I really do try to keep things reasonably simple.

Yes ...

Re: Split frequencies for a duplex hotspot now illegal on BM?

Then I read about BM protecting themselves from "misconfigured" hot spots by requiring all of them to use the same TX and RX frequencies.

Where did you read this? Do you have a link?

A bit of reading around actually reveals exactly the opposite, BM won't allow duplex hotspots with Tx and Rx ...
