An additional note to point out is that you are limited to 4 characters for this field.

Re: Firmware Version from command line

I ran the following to find the modem device: [email protected](rw):~$ find /dev/tty* ! -type l | grep -E "tty(AMA|ACM|USB|S)." It resulted in: /dev/ttyAMA0 /dev/ttyS0 /dev/ttySC0 /dev/ttySC1 I then tried the following with each of the devices from the results of the previous command: [email protected](...

Re: Firmware Version from command line

Thanks Jason,

At first glance I don't see what it would take from that script to get what I am looking for. When I get a chance I will investigate the script in more detail to see what I can get out of it.

The following snippet works after the system is up and running: grep 'MMDVM protocol version' /var/log/pi-star/MMDVM*.log | awk '{print $9}' However, what I am trying to do is add the firmware version to the motd...

Re: RF to appear or NET.

Gordon, BTW RF stands for Radio Frequency. NET in this case stands for INTERNET. When you transmit from your radio, the transmission goes from your radio to your hotspot via RF so the source to PI-STAR is RF. When you receive, the signal is going from the NET to your hotspot, so the source to PI-STA...

Re: Cannot connect to XLX reflector

The latest ircDDBGateway does support XLX216EL to link in urcall, however to enable this, you need to attend these parameters in /etc/ircddbgateway or expert mode > ircddbgateway ; xlxEnabled=0 xlxOverrideLocal=0 xlxHostsFileUrl= I understand that to enable the XRX mode you would change xlxEnabled=...

Re: Cannot connect to XLX reflector

I have tried to connect to an XLX reflector, specifically XLX216 E, with no success. I can connect to REF, and XRF reflectors using the radio and dashboard, I have not tried any DCS reflectors. XLX reflectors are multi-mode reflectors. You can't connect via XLX216 E, instead, you should use "REF216...
