Re: Losing WIFI connection
I have previously found that a basic three hotspot wpa_supplicant.conf file suffices to enable me to take a portable hotspot between home, car and office without rebooting (run on battery) without issue. However, I currently have the problem that the hotspots are dropping off the network and not rec...

Re: Needed: SMS how-to guide...
Nothing whatsoever is going through my hotspot in terms of messaging. Nada.

Re: Needed: SMS how-to guide...
I have made some progress: There are a couple of guides about which are helpful but which don't make clear a couple of things: 1. The address for weather reports and the 'echo' function is 262993; 2. The address for repeater status queries (and, apparently for POCSAG messages) is 262994; 3. The addr...

Needed: SMS how-to guide...
Folks, There are plenty of previous posts on the subject of SMS functionality including several by me - but I still cannot get anything reliable. My radio is a Retevis RT82 (also have a Retevis RT84 which displays identical symptoms). I have a RPi based MMDVM hot-spot. I connect to the "BM 2721...

Re: DMRGateway Issue
DMR-YSF is a different network to Brandmeister and so, as I understand it, the Brandmeister hotspot security password feature does not apply. If you look in Configuration->Expert->DMR settings you'll see a file at the bottom of which are a series (default is 3 I think) of DMR network entries, the fi...

The destination doesn't seem to matter - I use the wx server in The Netherlands (262993) and the SMSC (262995) and for SMSGTE I was using 234999 based on the Boca Raton article here: https://brara.org/BLOG/2020/05/16/dmr-b ... messaging/

Re: Mercury "Pen" pager...
Thanks for the reply. I am confident that it is a single xtal device. Quite what cut the crystal is remains to be determined. I agree that a spot frequency would be ideally agreed. Pager networks are often criticised as noise-generators, not unreasonably in my view, so perhaps something out of the w...

Brandmeister Master functionality...
This is not a pi-star query necessarily. I have DMR Master set to "DMRGateway" in my pi-star hotspots. I have found that when I use my pi-star hotspot Brandmeister Master set to "BM_United_Kingdom_2341" I cannot: a) send text messages to anyone; b) send text messages to the 26299...
