Re: Hotspot position OFF
I suspect if you wanted to turn it off just change the APRS host to something like 127.127.0.1 though you can't do that from Configure. might from expert or some other (SSH) I don't knwo. don't want to do it either.

Re: I object! -Danger on GPS
Though I do understand the dangers. I also understand the advantages. But currently the Hotspot is feeding 0:0 to APRS Even though it knows where it is at in my case it appears the only way to get it off 0:0 is to hook a GPS to it. That's worse than OFF in my opinion Now as for relaying the radio's ...

Hotspot position OFF
As it stands the Pi-Star hotspots report the entered GPS (or an attached dongle's output) to aprs/dprs. I see no reason to do this on most of my hotspots (The one in the CAR ok but only one in the house moves and it's hard wired to a radio that reports, it also runs alternative software so only the ...

Re: "Beaconing" sort of
I do not, on that radio because the ID-51 is not all that good at receiving distant stations (where I"m at the ID-5100 with a Diamond dual band has issues with Weather but the ID0-51 with that little rubber duck not a chance( I don't notice it with the hotspot. only the coolspot.. Hotspot runs ...

"Beaconing" sort of
Running 4.0 RC4 with an ID-51A+2 in Terminal mode it seems the Pi is sending a "Beacon" of sorts (just to my radio not over the net) In that I keep hearing "W A 8 Y X M T" from the radio.. Nothing of course goes over the net but I hear it. Nothign showing on the dashboard either ...

Disable Location of hot-spot
By default Pi-Star claims it is out in the middle of a whole lot of water.. And alas though I can tell it where it really is. I MOVE every 1-2 weeks normally.. Now I'll admit I don't moeve all that far on those moves usually 60 mile in summer and 20 in winter. but in between it is closer to 1000. Ho...

Re: Anti-kerchunk
This applies only to D-Star (I do not use other modes) but the "Ker-chunk" sends an ID/Info packet so you Kerchunk. once and I will hear your call and you show up on my dash. So as another John Davis (This one from GA not MI) said during an "Event" "Short check in" (Ker...

RC-4 Old feature request
For reasons that have nothing to do with Pi-Star I decided to download Release Candidate 4 and use the ICOM RADIO IN TERMINAL MODE. By the way. Very nice. I like it. But I noticed a change on the dashboard I now see the other party's repeater 1 and repeater 2 (This can be handy) But no longer see pa...
