Re: I object! -Danger on GPS

As for the (GPS) link it's mislabeled should be (ARPS) because it takes you, in my case, to ARPS.FI/WA8YXM and then you got to guess which Icon is where I am.. Good luck with that (Blue Handset works best). Yes, as I drill down through this whole issue, the one point that we are finding that most a...

Re: Hotspot position OFF

Even adding a global “switch” won’t guarantee anything. (...) The “switch” becomes moot. There are simply too many APRS variables, completely outside of pistar itself. Yes this is a valid point. The "cat is out of the bag" and there is no way to put it back in cases where previous softwar...

Re: I object! -Danger on GPS

Well, I see I have touched a nerve. OK all you fan boys can relax. I am going away. This is my last post on this topic. I want to thank you for bringing me a little humor today. amusing is watching people chant misstatements of fact, just so they can remain firm members of the gang. One at a t...

Re: Hotspot position OFF

We need a way to toggle OFF all goelocation information relayed by Pi-Star to the public internet. It is a dangerous and uncontrolled situation. I'm surprised at this, dangerous? As hams we have to have registered addresses, so its not like that information isn't in the public domain. as for turnin...

Re: Hotspot position OFF

I see no reason to do this on most of my hotspots (The one in the CAR ok but only one in the house moves and it's hard wired to a radio that reports, it also runs alternative software so only the radio reports). How about a toggle to disable position reports for the hotspot? I posted else where abo...

I object! -Danger on GPS

I have the following objection: The recent inclusion of the GPS link in the Gateway Activity / Callsign field is, in my estimation, very dangerous. Consider the following: 1.) The world is a dangerous place with a lot of weird types that like to steal things that do not belong to them 2.) With two o...

Suggested Logic change to DMR mode

In some use cases, such as analog to DMR transcoders, we need to not have the TG forced, but rather have it controlled by the setting as directed in the Pi-Star configuration page. We need it to behave as it does in YSF mode where it ignores TG info other than what is specifically 'set' in the confi...
