Re: Manual Updates Pi-Star:3.4.17 / Dashboard:20190402

Pistar runs a slightly modified version of the OS. It's paired down so it runs over various pi models from the lower spec zero to the higher spec 3b+ etc. So it can do it's thing regardless of hardware used. There are well established ways in which to do all the things you need to do using the 'pist...

Re: Repeater REF connection - What am I doing wrong?

If ur attempting to connect both HS's to the same reflector using the same callsign. This might be the issue. DPlus have started to tighten up on having multiple installs with the same link criteria connect to the same reflector. No one knows why, but users are stating they're getting blocked for do...

Re: RF to appear or NET.

A) I leave most of my hotspots running 24/7 But when I'm not using them I drop all TG's, reflectors etc. So they won't be occupying bandwidth whilst not in use and not transmitting aimlessly into the ether, to no use. B) my preferred connection method for a new install or making a connection to a ne...

Re: MMDVM RPT HAT

Do you have one or two 360s in ur setup? Your post seems to mention only the one? You can't run duplex using only one radio, you need two. One set for TX one set for Rx. You'll need to run a simplex install if you only have one radio in ur setup!

Re: Pistar and XLX

Ok well that's fine. I did run one here to permit DMR / DSTAR crossover, like ur's it's was not an open reflector it just served that purpose, in creating a DSTAR entry point into a BM TG. Once installed The config permits you to run as many modules as you choose. XLXd is the transcoder software if ...

Re: Looking for more processing power

If you want a powerful board go with an odroid ux4. and a shifter adapter board to match the pi header.
Both 3.7.** and 4.0.0 run on it without complaint, and it really has got some horsepower. [emoji23]

Re: America Link

Try running a manual update which will refresh Ur host files. Andrew M1DNS, (Mod) Please explain manual update. Is that the Update link on the web interface? Yes. If left alone pistar will auto update each night via the auto maintenance scripts that run in the early hrs. Or... As of 3.7.12 it's pos...

Re: Pistar and XLX

Yes and no. It will serve as a reflector with up to 26 modules 4001 - 4026 The issue is if it's not part of the XLX chain, in that you don't activate the call home feature in the XLX software the reflectors IP address will not propogate through and no system (inc. pistar) will know where you are or ...

Re: 4.0.0-RC3 Problem

Okay, Thanks. ... If I used another call in the radio RPT1 and RPT2 it dont work. Ole - OZ1CBK That is correct. The rpt1 rpt2 need to be set for the installation. eg. If I set my rpt1 to anything other than M1DNS B in my radio my transmissions would be ignored by my hotspot. The rpt1 & 2 must match...

Re: Cannot add my XLX reflector to Pistar

You'll need to activate the call home feature of XLX it'll then get distributed via the XLX server, where pistar update server draws its list.
