Another thing is if you are running multimode the detection of wires data burst is usually quicker than the scan rate, for one of my hotspots I key up for a second or two, enough time for the hotspot lock onto the c4fm signal and then try to connect... YMMV

does the 1 marked boot have to be changed before doing the firmware update.

I believe what's happening is the mmdvm device doesn't get the full pre-amble from the other station. This results with the default talkgroup of 0.

You are after the settings located in the configuration, extra, mmdvmhost scroll down until you see references to each mode and a level (think they are all set to 50 as default) be careful with this setting as it will affect the overall deviation and you shouldn't go beyond 2.75KHz otherwise you ...
