Still has the same problem.
Does the CWid work properly on your Pi-Star system?
If it does work as it should on your system then the problem could be with my hardware.
I will wait for your response before troubleshooting any further.

CW ID Does not give full repeater call sign
The CWid feature works but it only gives a couple letters of the repeater call sign.
I am using Pi-Star:4.1.0-RC2 / Dashboard: 20190905.
My repeater keys up for 3 seconds and then only sends a partial call sign. Has anyone else had this issue?

Dstar Repeater mode is used with a GMSK modem and your Pi.
MMDVMHost is for use with multimode type boards and your Pi.
What you found by experimenting is correct.
