Re: Other Thank Just Because, Should I Upgrade to 4

I'm currently running Pi-Star 3.4.17 on a Zumspot, which I believe is an RPi-0. Usually, I like to upgrade stuff "just because", which is generally frowned upon. But I like to have the newest features. However, I thought I'd ask about Pi-Star. Should I upgrade or leave it alone since it's...

Re: SSL Support

At some point I am planning to implement Let's Encrypt on my RPI so that I no longer have to pass it to the internet through my VPN. At the moment I am not forwarding it straight out the internet (obviously) because there is no SSL Cert (https://)

I cringe at the fact that people even contemplate port forwarding the web interface out to the Internet without HTTPS!!! I urge people to not do this! It’s just bad practice.

/me off soapbox

Thank you!
This is why for now my RPI is only accessible over the internet via my VPN.

Not exactly sure what you're trying to do without further information.

Re: announcement voice very loud

Hi all - I'm finding that the pre-recorded announcements coming from pi-star (e.g. "not linked") are extremely loud and distorted. Is this simply lack of calibration of transmit levels on my part or is there some other way to deal with this? I posted the same question on Reddit and someon...

Re: Hotspot on for long term

Excuse the rookie question but for how long does one typically leave a Pi-Star Hotspot on for? Should it be powered down, via the dashboard, after use? Thank you. I never switch my Raspberry Pi off as it uses little power, it only really goes down for a few minutes when my bash script is updating t...

Re: IP Announcement

Hover the word "Hostname" on the top of the admin page and you will see the system IP address.

As for voice announce - that isn't currently possible in MMDVMHost.
