Thanks for all the theorizing and the potential solutions. Turned out the problem was most likely a corrupted configuration and a too small SD card. I am not sure if that is what actually drove the failure, but all is in balance now.
Interesting observation: I could not get the latest image (5/28 ...

Curious about a failure
Of several hotspots, I have one mmdvm_hs hat - acquired second hand. Worked fine for quite a while (year or so). Pwr was always from a UPS and the unit was usually on unless exercising lightning precautions and I shut the entire station down.

Using Pistar to flash DVMEGA hat on a RPi
I tried to update my single band DVMEGA hat using Pistar in SSH mode. I made the strap mod that is described in Guus' instructions with the firmware, then followed the instructions on:
I have had a repeated failure at the point where the ...

Re: Diving Into GMSK on Arduino
Thanks Andrew,
Aware of the D-Star only bit. I am not much of a DMR user and don't have C4FM at all - my emphasis is really on non-voice digital modes and HF (including D-Star).
I have been in conversation with Guus sporadically about the idea. He indicated that he had planned to work on it a ...

Diving Into GMSK on Arduino
Just starting to play with this. Looks like it is particularly for repeater/hotspot use. Was hoping that using Guus’ GMSK and AMBE 3000 shields together on an Arduino Mega board would get me to a local combo that would do the work of the MOENcomm *board for HF and up. If anyone has tried it ...
