Re: New releases
n3gwg I feel your pain... I too have found him to be arrogant, and abrasive.... that being said, you can just do what i did... fork his code, and implement the bug fixes you addressed yourself.... Its on him if he's too full of himself to accept bugfixes to the upstream branch. I really don't care i...

Re: Auto set time on AlphaPOC style pagers
For those who come across this thread... I've done significant updates to my original time fix. Now it actually sends the time in the correct designated timeslot for your DAPNET transmitter... please get the latest version at http://github.com/mytechguyri/pocsag-local-time

Re: Manual local POCSAG message without network/DAPNET
Okay, I know this is reviving a corpse of a thread, but its the most relevant thread to what I'm doing... One of the things I have discovered is that, putting RIC 224 into slot 8 of your pager automatically sets the pager to local time... sort of... it sets it to the local time of the DAPNET server....

Re: Banana Pi and Pi-Star
why not provide support to other devices. while outside so many similar devices. Raspberry Pi is already hard to get, especially Raspberry Pi Zero which is no longer in production (the raspberry mentioned) Where did you get that the Pi Zero is no longer in production? It most certainly IS still in ...

Re: Building your own MMDVM repeater
I learned the hard way to avoid those Chinese knock off mmdvm repeater boards. They cheap out on the MCU, and other low quality components. My personal favorite are the boards made by DF2ET, as he has the pinouts on the board for channel steering the Motorola radios, so they can double as a DAPNET P...

Auto set time on AlphaPOC style pagers
So, I had purchased an Alphapoc style pager (the typical Chinese clone on ebay Model GP2009N) and it works great.... But one thing I noted, supposedly if you add RIC 224 in slot 8 it will automatically set the pager's clock to local time. Well, turns out that's not QUITE accurate.... It will set it ...

Re: MobileGPS support...
Seems the best option might just be to install Direwolf in Pi-Star and have it read the GPS data from gpsd and send a position beacon to APRS

Re: APRS (native) iGate (RX only) possible?
You could install Direwolf and setup a VHF receiver and USB sound card (Something like the DRA-818V module from SV1AFN would do the job) or an RTL-SDR USB stick if you wanted a receive only igate (I'd recommend going a full igate with the DRA-818V, as that is more helpful to the APRS network)

Re: MMDVMHost update
It is. But I can understand people like Andy that do this as a hobby or for fun and there's no obligation at all and personally I appreciate their effort and dedication for the amateur radio community. But when we all have to sit around and wait for one person to update our software that unfortunat...

Re: MobileGPS
Would be so much better if this just used the existing hooks for gpsd... Seems like a lot of re-inventing the wheel, and limits functionality. For example: If Pi-star could read GPS from gpsd.... I could have one single GPS dongle, and provide GPS data via gpsd to both Direwolf (APRS) and Pi-Star an...
