Re: Don't see option for Modem Type

The trouble is that I don't see the drop-down box so I never get to the list. I tried the process again last evening and I entered my callsign into the callsign box and did "Apply Changes" at which point the "Radio Modem Type" pull-down appeared along with the "MMDVMHost Con...

Don't see option for Modem Type

I am trying to set up a new ZUM Spot (actually trying to rebuild an old one) and I don't see the pull-down option for Modem/Radio Type that i expect to see in the "General Configuration" section. What am I doing wrong?

I have done lots of these, but it has been a while.

Anyone else seeing TG0 occasionally

I am occasionally seeing a TG0 display on my Pi-Star (ZUM Spot configuration w/ PiZero W) hot spot. Anyone ever see this and know what is going on (or what the fix is)? It occasionally shows up when there is a legitimate call in progress. It usually clears when the current participant clears and the...

Re: What is lowest BER folks have achieved with a Zumspot?

This thread is pretty old but it looks like you got mostly replies from DMR users. I just went through this with a ZUM Spot and calibrated it using the MMDVMCAL routine accessible using SSH in Expert mode. The best I see after calibrating is 0.25 or so but it is always green so I think I am OK. Befo...

Re: TX/RF Offset Question

Jason --

Thanks for that I did not know that program was in there. I gave it a try and it looks like 200 is good. We'll see if things work better.

TX/RF Offset Question

Can someone help me understand the TX/RX Offset setting? I am seeing occasional high BER in P25 (3.7% and such). I have been doing a trial and error adjustment and find that +250 has made it better but is there a way using a frequency counter (assuming I can find a good accurate one) to set this &qu...

Re: Does Pi-Star pass the P25 packet unaltered?

OK, I guess that may mean that it is (or could be) pulling out some of the stuff we are talking about.

Does Pi-Star pass the P25 packet unaltered?

This may sound like a strange question but there is some discussion in our local P25 community regarding things like GPS location data and Soft ID data not being passed by ZUM Spots, Open Spots etc. I know a Pi-Star forum cannot speak for OpenSpots but I cannot see why any of these devices would str...

Re: ZumSpot Rebooting Occasionally on its own

Further testing: I spent a lot of time on the Pi-Star Forums and got some suggestions from KE7FNS (Jason, I believe). His thinking was that perhaps this was a consequence of having both Pi-Star2 and Pi-Star3 tied to REF012A. I decided to do a bit more testing to see if I could nail that down. Once a...
