WiFi issues, after major update...

... to both the underlying Linux OS, and Pi-Star code etc. Hi. Long time member, small time user. Pi-Star built with a wired LAN + 3xUSB ports card (works well.) OLED display, and one of the Pimoroni on/off shims. Used exclusivly for RAYNET UK DMR. No other modes or networks setup. This I found a wh...

Re: Pimoroni OnOff shim (software.)

Hi. This is just to say, that this :- https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/onoff-shim seems to work well with the Pi-Star RpiZero based Hotspot hardware, including an OLED display. (One of the smaller items, with the old controller chip.) And also one of these devices:- https://erelement.com/raspberry...

Re: Pimoroni OnOff shim (software.)

Thanks for looking Sir. The shim works just fine on a "normal" Pi, just as advertised. Press to turn on. Long press to turn off, and it shuts down cleanly. I was wondering about the OLED display, but I can check that out myself, it was indeed if there was any firmware/software clashes anyw...

Pimoroni OnOff shim (software.)

Hi. Had a look around the forum before asking, and only found two messages relating to the OnOff shim, and no idea if they were successful. So... Has anyone successfully added one of these to a Pi-Star? https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/onoff-shim (As it would be useful when running without a link ...

Re: Pi-Star / MMDVM (Jumbospot) Motorola incompatibility?

You should just go buy a cheap btech dmr-6x2 they are much easier to operate and program. But have you seen the RF output spectrum from many of those low cost radios! Not nice. In fact, some are right antisocial. Having said that, the spectral purity of what comes out of the clone JumboSpot I seem ...

Re: Display corruption?

Hi. Further to my general issues getting the Pi-Star to send audio to the network (pending.) I have at least found a fix for "My" 0.96" OLED display corruption. This is when using one of the cheap common as muck 0.96" OLED displays that litter the interweb auction sites. The one ...

Re: Pi-Star / MMDVM (Jumbospot) Motorola incompatibility?

The BM page showed you have successfully transmitted to the parrot, you think it didn't but you did, or else it wouldn't of shown up on your BM hotspot page. You need to get your radio programmed to connect to a private number 9990, and you also need to program that channel to listen to that privat...

Re: Motorola codeplug setup details?

PD0DIB has updated his screens recently, just download them. If you have access to Windows download the Nextion editor, load his screens and mess around with them. https://nextion.tech/nextion-editor/ You can compile them and debug them by using the simulator to see how they work and function. You ...

Re: Motorola codeplug setup details?

Hi again. I think I need to get the pi-star's basic functionality sorted out before adding anything anything like a Nextion display. Physically adding one, as in wiring it up is not a problem (I'm a hardware guy, happy with mechanical things, and high power RF stuff.) Flashing code to a SD card is n...

Re: Pi-Star / MMDVM (Jumbospot) Motorola incompatibility?

Hi again All. To: KE7FNS:- Yes, the radio causes the system to grab TG9990 (The code-plug has that set as a "group call", as the radio will not even key up as a "Private" call, that I can see. I have both methods programmed as separate channels within the zone. Only the Group cal...
