Re: Would An Old Android Phone (( NO SERVICE ))Work As an SD Card Reader ??

Umm.....I would be using an old Android phone to format the SD Card which would be put into my Hotspot (If this works) rather than wait on an SD Card reader to arrive in the mail

Does THAT answer your question ??

Cheers & 73 :D

Would An Old Android Phone (( NO SERVICE ))Work As an SD Card Reader ??

If so, I've got plenty of those (One of which I keep charged up mainly to go Periscoping while the Android phone WITH service just simply provides the bandwidth (As it would for my Jumbospot clone when I get a new SD CARD for it as I think it's probably got an UNBRANDED card in it IF it even has one...

Re: Need LOTS Of HELP

Well I know what I can do in the meantime - REPORT THE SELLER to Amazon for possible TOS (And LEGAL ??) violations  THAT BEING SAID though - If I could just find a way to get into the thing & log on successully, I could probably either do an FDR or just re-configure it to match my call, DMR...

Re: Need LOTS Of HELP

Looks like I'm gonna have to wait till the first of the month when I can get an SD Card reader (As it appears as though there IS one in my device that needs to be formatted. From there, I SHOULD (??) be bale to flash one of the MMDVM images to the card As a side note - These devices should REALLY be...

Re: Need LOTS Of HELP

Yeah the fact it's listening for D-STAR traffic WITHOUT my configuring it bothers me too. That has me thinking I was likely somehow sent a PRE-CONFIGURED Hotspot under THE DISGUISE that it was a NEW, OUT OF THE BOX Hotspot (In which case, NOT ONLY may the seller might have violated Amazon's TOS BUT ...

Re: Need LOTS Of HELP

I could try tethering it to my smartphone (I don't have it configured AT ALL yet as I just replaced my phone) & see if DOING THAT works but that would basically require putting both in the next room so as to block the MMDVM from trying to access my home WiFi

Re: Need LOTS Of HELP

PROBLEM - The PI-STAR local page won't even come up (I suspect my cable modem/router from Comcast/Xfinity must be blocking it since I haven't given it permission to allow it (And THAT is because I don't have the info. needed to give TO the cable modem/router TO give it permission FOR the page to com...
