I forget the exact detail, but I am pretty sure that the flashing speeds up once the HAT has initialised as the Pi boots and then the MMDVM host starts.

I too am having trouble getting a new 32 GB card to work. I downloaded the latest image file, flashed it to the card installed it into my working mmdvm pi-zero w2 all the new program is blink at me no matter how long it sits after several tries I added the wifi maker file it still doesn't boot nor ...

Perhaps you could get some more information using Wireshark to either sniff WiFi packets or perhaps get into the wired network if you have a LAN of that type. I have a Netgear managed switch that allows me to mirror a port to a free port and then look at the traffic to/from my router. Something like...

Could anybody justify this regression ? What for ? It's not a regression for Pi-Star, Andy built an image that fitted on a 2GB card and there wasn't room for additional packages. I don't remember exactly when the last Pi-Star series (4.x) was created but I am not aware of any official Pi-Star image...
