Re: No d star after I changed from a iPhone 6 to an 8
DVAP hooked up to pi-star. Where can I find the new IP address? It’s an ICOM 880h and it was working perfectly the day before I switched phones. I used to enter 172.20.10.3 and it would hookup to the pi-star dashboard. Also the phone does show the blue bar for device connected when the DVAP complet...

Re: Multiple Static TalkGroups
If there is an idle requirement, it is probably something on Brandmeister's end. Pi-Star idle timeouts are used when multiple /modes/ are active -- to ensure that one has a chance for responses to a transmission on one mode before it switches to the other mode. Changing talkgroups within an active m...

Re: "linked" talkgroups?
What does "connected to" mean? My experience is not much, since keying up with the radio set to a different TG will change it. As will traffic from the net from a different TG. Well, for Brandmeister, you only get such "traffic from the net" if: 1) the talkgroup was manually set...

Re: New Hotspot
I finally got my new home brew hotspot put together and hooked up. I got into setup and was doing all the configuring and when I got down to setting up HOW did you "got into setup"? Using a hardwired ethernet cable, or using the AutoAP (where the R-Pi becomes an access point using an SSID...

Re: Can RX but no longer TX on D-Star
Unfortunately the PDF manual leaves a lot to be desired -- your "Use Repeater" screen was not seen in the manual while I was flipping through the D-STAR section.
I suspect you need to be set for the equivalent of "Use Gateway".

Re: V4 still Beta?
In the meantime, some Raspbian libraries used by the 3.4.x codeline have been deprecated, so updates to that stable version are beginning to throw errors, though everything seems to be working fine still. It should perhaps be pointed out that 3.4 is based upon Debian JESSIE (v8), the aborted 4.0 se...

Re: V3.4.17 update problems
Off-hand... You have a corrupt file system on the SD card. May be time to reimage a fresh SD card and reconfigure (probably easier than finding a Linux system on which you can mount the SD card and run fsck on the partitions). https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2348768 However -- it may just ...
