Re: Lost password

If I understand https://forum.pistar.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1889 there may not /be/ a "default" password. It appears to be used to allow external/smartphone (remote) apps entry to the gateway process for some sort of control. If you aren't using these apps, it may not matter what the password ...

Re: Dual band DVMEGA hat not working on VHF

Apologies, I couldn't say -- between my first DMR rig being UHF-only (I now have a UHF/VHF DMR, along with a Kenwood D-STAR unit) and more "free" frequencies in UHF, I never tried the VHF band of my DV-Mega.

Re: Geatways settings

You don't! D-Star licensed the use of the original AMBE codec (a GMSK protocol). DMR and Yaesu System Fusion both licensed the AMBE-2 codec (a 4FSK protocol). The only way to gateway between the two is to use a system that has paid for licenses to BOTH codecs, then decode the digital traffic from o...

Re: Pi-Star Hotspot failure....

Double check to make sure you downloaded the right image for your hardware. If you have an RPi board, use only one of these: Pi-Star_RPi_V3.4.17_20-Jan-2019.zip Pi-Star_RPi_V4.1.0_26-Mar-2020.zip Pi-Star_RPi_V4.1.2_20-May-2020.zip If it is an R-Pi 4B, only a v4 image will be suitable. Not sure if t...

Re: Accessing XLX Cross Mode Reflectors - not working

Step 1: do NOT specify "XLX..." in the link command... Either XRF or DCS! cf: https://www.f4fxl.org/ref-xrf-dcs-xlx-whats-the-difference/ Let’s assume you want to connect to XLX208C. According to the previous examples with REF, XRF and DCS you would expect to have to issue the command XLX2...

In normal configurations, /var/log/* is located in a small RAM-disk -- which means that simply rebooting will clear out the log files.

Re: Other Thank Just Because, Should I Upgrade to 4

I'm currently running Pi-Star 3.4.17 on a Zumspot, which I believe is an RPi-0. Usually, I like to upgrade stuff "just because", which is generally frowned upon. But I like to have the newest features. However, I thought I'd ask about Pi-Star. Should I upgrade or leave it alone since it's...

Re: MMDVMHost - latest build? Missing 'SendFrameType'parameter

I don't know how you post the fancy screenshots that you can scroll? Note that what you show is a TEXT CONSOLE... No screen grab needed -- just select the TEXT and copy it, then paste it into a message here (use the </> button to create a "code" box). You can even scroll backwards in most...

From https://wiki.brandmeister.network/index.php/United_States_of_America Creation of Talk Groups Talk Groups are only labeled for 3, 4 and 5 Digit IDs. Due to the limited number of 5 Digit IDs available we are no longer labeling any new requests for 5 digit talk groups at this time. Please use your...
