Re: New to pi-star ..HELP NEEDED.

Calling any other Gurus out there, I was helping the Gent out today and updated to 20210305/4.1.4 and now neither the Modem or any settings in DMR (namely DMR Gateway (was going to see if he could hear me on DMR2YSF) ) are able to be held (Modem reset after apply changes. I had that Once or twice bu...

Re: New to pi-star ..HELP NEEDED.

Not in UK but I can help get Pi-Star running. But word of caution here, don't post the same message in multiple places, it may boost your post count but also will make answers show up all over the multi posts so you never know which one to follow. I can Zoom, but do not have me a host account. So in...

Re: Where did network 4 go?

OK, I did a quick read through that PDF, and boy do they need to be more direct and show the right stuff. You see, Pi-Star's DMR Gateway originally (I men in 3.4.17) did have 4 networks (making Network 4 actually the 5th), but you had to add it in manually, in Expert mode. Now I am NOT a developer, ...

Re: Dashboard displays (GPS) ?

The (GPS) is a link to https://aprs.fi/#!call=<the person's call sign>* Why the * ? Don't know. But you know when you set up Pi-Star and entered the Lat/Long in the General Section, that is what it is giving out, so people on other Pi-Stars can find you on a map in relation to them. My YSF has it - ...

Re: pi star image

RC = Release CAndidate -- not needed now -- current version is Pi-Star_RPi_V4.1.2_20-May-2020.zip Jumbospots are generally a STM32_MMDVM Pi Hat (GPIO), or very similar wording but you do need to set the Dosplay to OLED (Type 3 for the smaller screen aor Type 6 for the bigger OLED screen befor the MM...

Re: Saving the Pi-Star Image on Linux Mint 20

I use Win32DiskImager on my windows 10 but there is Balena ETcher that does the same thing -- many say to use that. Never worked right for me on Win10 But in Mint, it may work. Just look through your Package Manager for it or google Balena Etcher and go to their website to get help using that.

Re: Connecting to Pi-Star using Linux Mint 20

Couple things to try is drop .locah e.g http://pi-star/ If you can sewe the dashboard on another computer then go to the Configuration -> pi-star / raspberry (if asked) -> scroll to bottom. If you are on Wifi with this hotspot the IP will show up in the box -- If you are wired then you need to go to...

Re: DMR2YSF

I have an idea but will probably be told I am talking out my @$$, but ... 1 - Are you using DMR2YSF straight (meaning you don't want anything BUT YSF) or the DMR Gateway? If DMR2YSF straight 100290 should have worked -- Try 100390 -- They are both AmericaLink IIRC but 390 sounds better(AmericaLink Y...

Re: Does Wires-X passthrough do anything on DMR2YSF mode?

Not a guru , but I don't think so as in a DMR radio you need a channel set to use a talkgroup so Wires-X Passthrough has no meaning In DMR if you use DMR2YSF and only DMR to YSF the TG numbers are the 5 digit room numbers for YSF or 100XXX for FCS rooms. If you use the DMR Gateway with the Crossover...

Re: DMR ID,..

OK that was a REALLY BAD idea -- when posting your config files, SANITIZE THE PASSWORDS - you copy/pasted in here with your brandmeister hotspot security password -- I suggest you change it NOW! Anyways yes there is, look on the regular config screen and under the DMR section in brandmeiister and DM...
