Re: pi-star not showing up on wifi lists
Pistar AP only shows if the pi is not connected to wifi or a wired connection.
Move the hotspot out of range from ur home router and it should show up a couple mins after power up.

Re: hotspots
None, really.
The mode that really benefits from a duplex install is DMR mode.

Re: internet network, DMR repeater, MMDVM, Pi-Star
Ok. If it has a network connection try switching off the pistar AP function.
But if it continues to loose its net connection the checks in pistar will halt mmdvmhost, which is basically ur repeater controller.

Re: internet network, DMR repeater, MMDVM, Pi-Star
Try using a vanillia install of mmdvmhost. Pistar isn't really the correct solution for your standalone setup.
Pistar has several checks to ensure criterias are maintained and as you've found, when they fail. services get shutdown.

Im also part of a BM uk team. But im not currently watching the USA groups. So cant cross check their replies to you t...

Yep. The little L shown in the display. Yeah thats loss coming over the net. Agreed. When you say ambe do you mean /ambe showing in the callsign? I've an idea they might be using software running on a mobile phone. Have a google search re: Droidstar. Sent via smoke signals from my SM-G935F M1DNS (Ad...
