That's odd, as the /usr/local/sbin/HostFilesUpdate.sh script only overwrites the files in /usr/local/etc/* and not /root/*. You can see that for yourself by examining the script: ... A "console" is any text-only terminal attached to the RPi. It's easiest to use the web-based configuration interface from a different computer.

How does that work with without xserver-xorg installed? Sorry if I missed that detail.
