Tether tablet to MMDVM NOT MMDVM to tablet
Folks, I have a MMDVM board with Pi-Star running my repeater. I have an old tablet that I have mounted to the repeater to check the dashboard when working with the machine. Several times I have noticed that the tablet has obtained and IP address via the USB port rather than using the Wifi from the R...

Re: Pi-Star v4.0.0 RC2 - available
Folks, I have been using the latest and greatest quite happily, but something is going on with my cellmodem, when I installed v4.0.0, I noticed both the following" Improved screen when booting up, its now more obvious that you should not be using the console to interact with the Pi. I hope that...

Re: V4.0.0RC3
I just installed RC3. Looks good, I did have to go in and change the password as it reverted to raspberry. I am also still having an issue with the ipv4.fw file not being read. Had the same issue back on the image for the 3B+. My work around is to add it to the iptables.rules. Of course every time t...

Re: pistar-findmodem
I have a modem which returns the same one as Andy shows. The Nextion screen is attached to the modem and as I understand it should be addressed as "modem" on the pi-star configuration screen. Indeed here is the reply I get from the interrogation: pi-star@pi-starfdx(rw):~$ sudo pistar-findm...

Re: Cannot Get Nextion to work under Pi-Star
I found out how to do the roll back, did it but no joy. I still have a nice blank screen, any other ideas out there?

Re: ipv4.fw not being read?
The file is in /root, here is the contents: #Custom FW script # Open port for gkrellmd found on 19150 iptables -A INPUT -p tcp -m tcp --dport 19150 -j ACCEPT This is running just fine on my 3B, but on my 3B+ I had to go in and add it to the FW file. I do not know why it is not pulling it in. Was try...

ipv4.fw not being read?
I am running my system on the 3B+, so I am using the code for that machine. It appears that the ipv4.fw file is not being read, I have a rule I added so I can get to gkrellmd, but it does not appear to pick it up. On my 3B board it works just fine. Has anyone noticed this? In order to get it to work...

Re: Nextion not reading card?
For some reason it would not take a card unless I had formatted it using Win10. I was doing the format using Linux and formatting to Fat32 using Gparted. but that would not work, so re-looked at the docs it said to format with Windows... OK, I will do so. Formatted the card, then I moved it over to ...

Re: Cannot Get Nextion to work under Pi-Star
I am having the same issue. I have checked all of the wiring TX>RX RX>TX, I just see the MMDVM logo on the screen but get no data on there. I see the comment about rolling back the MMDVM software to the previous rev level, have not done that, what is the trick? I see and have used the command to upd...

Re: Nextion not reading card?
I had not seen that the first few times I tried it, the I found the place where it said to have them disconnected, I did so but still no joy. Perhaps I messed something up and need to reset the thing? I am going to try the one on a stand alone PI and see if that works, but It would not read the SD c...
