Re: 28th pdate and pi-star not connect with wifi

Thank you -- I did not have the same issue either I just got calls from a bucnh of folks whose screens quite working , could not connect, and other after the update.. Interestingly, after writing the above, I was tinkering with another hotspot (adding a cooling fan) and ran into the issue of my Nex...

Re: 28th pdate and pi-star not connect with wifi

Sure, you're welcome to disagree. But it is the default setting (run the WiFi Builder tool on the Pi-Star website and you'll see that this is true: http://www.pistar.uk/wifi_builder.php), and I've simply shared the reason it is that way. Leaving or changing the default setting will have no impact on...

That's normal. JP is the default country code because it has the broadest selection of channels. It's fine to leave that as is, no matter where you are located.

Re: 28th pdate and pi-star not connect with wifi

and the newly created wpa file is odd? FYI: After seeing your post, I just took a look at /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf and don't see anything unusual. This particular hotspot is a LoneStar MMDVM Simplex mounted on a RPi 3A+ running 4.0.0-RC4, 20190628, firmware v1.4.17). It should be not...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4

Have you run a "sudo apt-get update" recently? Normally its kinda assumed you run that before other apt-get install commands, so I kinda didn't mention it. Sorry about that, but it might be that theres a serious issue with that package and they've removed it from the repo. I'll have to ta...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4

This tells me there is an issue with 4.1-RC1. Hey, you wanna try something really quick and see what happens? I don't have a Zero to test. You are going to need to connect to network though, so maybe tried wired and then run this: sudo apt-get install openresolv I was able to get my 4.1 hotspot to ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4

I was able to get my 4.1 hotspot to act correctly the instant I reinstalled that package, it started resolving network hosts right away. Well done! I'm impressed with how quickly you figured this out. I'm running a 3A+, so won't be able to test this solution. I thought about trying it with one of t...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4

The wpa_supplicant.conf I happened to use was generated by the tool on the pistar.uk website, that tool has not changed at all, the format is identical to the old ones - it works exactly as expected. Decided to do one final test: Used the same ZUMspot + RPi 3A+ hotspot as with the previous failed t...
