Re: Problem Installing ON7LDS Nextion Driver

Walter, when you say you don’t get the full function, do you mean—for example—that the reboot and shutdown buttons don’t do anything? If that’s the case, it’s because connecting via the modem connection won’t work for those functions. I had to change over to USB for those to work. There’s supposed t...

Re: Problem Installing ON7LDS Nextion Driver

There needs to be a space between the command and the target. Thus: cd<space>/tmp

Re: NextionDriver vanished !

Gary, not sure if this is the procedure you want, take with a grain of salt. I used it to get the entry “/dev/ttyNextionDriver” into the drop down menu on my config page. Another Forum user posted it some weeks ago. SSH rpi-rw (may not be necessary since the next command puts you temporarily in supe...

Re: Latest Firmware?

That script updated my Jumbo to 1.4.12, Gary. And since that same script updates the HS Hat boards from Germany, I believe it will continue to be useful for the Jumbo boards too. If your Jumbo is one of the newer ones with a different crystal frequency, there is a variant of the update script just f...

3D Printed Case for 2.4” or 3.5” Nextion

DL2DW has designed a case for an MMDVM HS Duplex Hat that includes a separate case for either a 2.4” or a 3.5” Nextion display; he made designs for both screen sizes. I don’t have a duplex hat nor a 2.4” screen but I downloaded and printed just the parts for the 3.5” display case and it fits exactly...

Re: Model 8 - Observed Issues

If there’s a way to add an attribute from within the Expert editor I haven’t learned it. I went instead to /etc/mmdvmhost and added it where indicated but the change didn’t stick after I rebooted. I went back and added it again while in SuperUser mode and it stuck. It now shows as you illustrated in...

How did you edit the driver? I looked at the file with Nano but it’s written in a machine language, I guess. Nano doesn’t work for that job.

Re: Model 8 - Observed Issues

I have a 3.5 Enhanced Nextion and have some display issues with Model 8 Dashboard version. First let me say I really like the Models 7 and 8 screens. Rob did a fabulous job creating them. BTW, I only run DMR on my hotspot, so the only screens I see are the Dashboard (idle screen), Flag (RX), and Inf...

Re: Model 8 download for 3.2" screen

Mine shuts off too but wakes up if I touch it, though it may take more than one touch or more than momentary pressure. I’ve been wondering if there’s a built-in screen blanker or whether I had some other problem. Since yours does it too, it must be a feature rather than a bug.

Re: Model 8 download for 3.2" screen

You might have hit it on the nose about the Pi Zero, though I don’t have one. From what I’ve read here and there, the zero is working pretty hard just to keep the modem board going. But I recall I had to really wrangle things to get my Zero W and Jumbospot to play nice with NextionDriver. After what...
