Overmodulated announcement on TG6 (XLX)...

Folks, My Jumbospot running pi-star (same with versions 3.x, 4.0 and now 4.1.2) gives an announcement when connected to an XLX reflector. This says "Connected to XLX353E" in my case. The announcement is overmodulated and sounds quite distorted and is much louder than either traffic on the ...

Re: SMS sending dose not work !

If you have a chinese radio (Retevis, TYT etc), make sure that the box "Data call confirmed" is NOT checked on your channel window for your hotspot.

I have also been having similar problems and it appears to be a radio issue rather than a pi-star one.

RESOLVED? Re: SMS over DMR...???

Well, I noticed that in my CPS the box "Data Call Confirmed" was checked - so I un-checked it and I have been able to send messages to 262993 since, although still not 100%. So maybe this was a setup error. My radio is a Retevis RT84 (I also have an RT82 with the same box in the channel wi...

SMS over DMR...???

Folks, I have two DMR radios - a Retevis RT82 and a Retevis RT84 (the latter bought cheaply when I thought that I had bricked the RT82 which turned out to be wrong). The RT82 has GPS but the RT84 does not. The issues reported below are identical between the two. I normally have APRS reporting on for...

Re: YSF2DMR Broken ???

Phil, Fair point - I played around with several nodes including the one that you mention and nothing happened so I 'gave up'. After a break of over 30 minutes I noticed that it had connected. So I played around a little further and it is now connected to CQ UK (I suppose my preferred) but it took ov...

Re: YSF2DMR Broken ???

Right, I have determined that my home Mikrotik router IS supplying DNS but supplies its own address as dns sever - which most other devices including the multiple Raspberry Pis that I run can use. BUT I have now added the four open-dns server addresses to the DNS server list (so now there are five -...

Re: YSF2DMR Broken ???

You are quite right - github not resolved by pi-star but IS resolvable from my mac on the same WiFi.

Any idea how to kick start DNS on pi-star? That could explain most problems - although why D-Star works is still a mystery...

Re: YSF2DMR Broken ???

This is the error that I get:

fatal: unable to access 'https://github.com/AndyTaylorTweet/Pi-S ... _sbin.git/': Could not resolve host: github.com

Of course, github.com does exist and is resolvable.

Re: YSF2DMR Broken ???

Update has not worked since around then - it did update successfully on around that date but update always reports unable to access some directory or other. YSF stopped working around that time too but not directly correlated (it did work AFTER the update worked but has not worked at all since about...
