Re: Network Status - DMR Net

Might be easier to simply browse the logs: egrep -e "MMDVM|Opening |Closing | Logged|Login" /var/log/pi-star/MMDVM* The last line should be something like "DMR, Logged into the master successfully". If not, try restarting the host task: sudo systemctl restart mmdvmhost.service Gi...

Re: Network Status - DMR Net

Mostly likely you are losing your Internet connection, even if intermittently: your ISP issues a reset of some sort, the lease on your IP address expires and you get a new address, or your wifi connection drops momentarily because of poor reception, or you have a duplicate IP address somewhere. Most...

Re: Don't see option for Modem Type

[... assuming yer image is up-to-date ...]

You should be seeing six entries for Zumspot/Zumradio in the drop-down list: either scroll down the list or type a Z in the search box.

And: what what do you see when you run "sudo pistar-findmodem"?

Re: What Pi-Star "saves" save to what?

[set aside the thread above for the moment and go back to your prior questions; we need to walk first before trying to run; get one step down before moving to the next step.] The first (existing) hotspot is a fully set up, fully functional TGIF Spot, Nextion screen simplex, single band. I don't want...

Re: What Pi-Star "saves" save to what?

You're referring to the SD card in the hotspot , correct? And what is saved there are changes made to the settings on the Configure page ? Is that correct? And "Save/Restore" saved settings are saved in the location specified by the computer, correct? Correct. Where is Expert:Full Edit: D...

Re: What Pi-Star "saves" save to what?

Everything is saved (applied) locally (e.g. SD card) except when saving configurations (dashboard->config->save/restore) the location for which is controlled by the browser you are using; nothing is saved to the Pi-Star website.

Re: Hotspots freeze up

Can I put that command in cron to run automatically? Sure! Best you create an entry in /etc/cron.daily, probably named "pistar-a..." of that it executes before the hostfile updates (files in this directory are executed in alphabetical order). But does this process (pistar-mmdvmhshatreset)...

Re: Hotspots freeze up

Might be down to the clocking of the CPU between the Pi and the HAT modem, or possibly problems with the clock on the ADF7021 chip from the TCXO. Not seen this for a long time but one of my HAT modems needed its TCXO replacing with a better spec one bought from a decent supplier (Digikey or may hav...

Re: Hotspots freeze up

All of the TGs are static. For BM, I'm using: 91 3100 31656 TGs 91 and 31656 are frequent "offenders" - there is heavy traffic in both for long periods of time each day, so overflows here are not surprising. But they come and go; perhaps a minute or two of overflows one day and then sever...

Re: Hotspots freeze up

Thank you for your observations. It confirms a suspicion of mine: the first time I was alerted to the "overflow queue" problem was exactly the same situation you find yourself in: one of my hotspots appeared locked up, but upon further investigation, I found the log files maxed out. (see <...
