Understanding Duplex MMDVM hat

Post by WB4SJN »

I have the pi3B+ board. I have an Icom ID31 D-star radio. We have a D-star repeater the is on 146 mHz. If I put a Duplex MMDVM Hat on my pi will pi-star allow me to access the above mentioned repeater. I am still quite green when it comes to pi-star.

No. Your hotspot will essentially be a repeater. You can connect to any reflectors you want; but you cannot link to a physical repeater.

Hi,

best wishes for 2021.

You can conncect to a repeater:
set URcall to "CALL BL" (B --> repeater call is on VHF use mode B, L for Link). I programmed that in the trx and it works.
URcall "CALL BU" to unlink.

Does not work in the pi-star software, you have to do it with your trx URcall in repeater mode DR

Best Regards

B is uhf module, C is vhf.

AB1CD BL would connect to a 70cms module link.
AB1CD CL would connect to a 2m module link.

_______U (<- seven spaces and a U) to unlink.
