No DV4MINI support?

Post by pa3kc »

Whats the reason for not supporting DV4MINI's?

Got the (used) DV4MINI two days ago, then I heard all the complains about. I updated the firmware and its running stable via mono on a rpi with the latest dv4mini software.

Its not a DV-mega but its works fine on DMR and DSTAR.

So why is it not supported by pi-star?

It's proprietary hardware and they haven't provided any way for 3rd parties to integrate with it.

I sent an email to DG1HT (one of the devs) via there website dv4mini.de and asked if they could consider to open source the drivers for it.

Lots of DV4MINI dongles out there and not in use.

If they make some drivers so that it will speak to MMDVMHost, we'd add it in.

Hi
I take it that there is no change in the driver availability?

Do they even produce these things now?
Didn't they stop production a couple yrs back?

Hi
I suppose it all depends on how much support you want to put into older, superseded, products.
