Disconnect talkgroup

Post by ki4gst »

Would be nice to have a way from the dashboard to disconnect from a DMR talk group. For example last night I wanted to get on a net on a talk group but since the talk group my hotspot was already on was very busy I could not switch TG by keying the radio. I instead had to log into brandmaster to drop the connection which takes way longer than getting into the hotspot becouse of all the hoops to jump threw on brandmaster.

Every one says I should be able to have my radio key up for TG 4000 but that don’t work with hotspots since it can’t hear the radio while it is actively transmitting. Would like an easy way to do this.

So the "drop QSO" button didn't work for you?

To get out, you have to activate BM API key
in Brandmeister, and then add Pi-star.
You can read this.......

Thanks. I now have that added to my pi-star. Now let’s hope it works for me next time I need it.

Works for me each and every time I've needed it to...on Brandmeister, anyway.

Would be nice to have similar functionality on other networks (like TGIF) eventually. But I'm sure that will be coming at some point.

I am unable to get this to work...

I have the Brandmeister API setup and I have the buttons on my Pi-Star dashboard. However, clicking them does not disconnect me from the talkgroup. My hotspot continues to transmit the last talkgroup I connected to.

This can be a real issue when connected to a busy talkgroup on a simplex hotspot. Any help would be appreciated.

I’ve found I have to hit drop QSO then quickly key the radio on a different talk group. .
