BM AirSecurity via Pi-Star

Post by M6NBP »

Hi all
As we know BM has AirSecurity and we should all start and use it.
https://wiki.brandmeister.network/index ... rSecurity

Options I would like to see added to Pi-Star API
1. Turn on off AirSecurity from dashboard.
2. Set time duration (Pi-Star would keep awake AirSecurity for x time)
3. When power down Pi-Star AirSecurity would turn on at BM at x time.
4. When via Hotspot and using Hotspot Security pin, when you PTT with matching ID numbers AirSecurity would turned off X time.

This is not to replace how BM AirSecurity is done but to complement it via Pi-Star for ease of use to end users.

One or more of the options above over time would be nice.
Any and all forms of stopping miss use of the system has to be a step forward.

Many thanks

Norman

I completely agree. Considering what happened on latest CQ WW on TG91, such additions would be very welcome, as you said - for user convenience.

Air security would need to be part of the BM API which is used in conjunction with controlling your selfcare acc. in PS, If it is supported in the API it should be poss. to be written into PS.

Ah... OK. Do you mind me asking the guys at BrandMeister Telegram group if they would implement it?

The whole point of the post was to see if we can get the ball rolling.

Part off it will need BM and the other Pi-Star.

Of course, but I just don't want to step on somebody else's toes, so to say. Maybe it's not mine to ask BM admins. But if it is, I'll gladly ask and link this topic.

What you ask BM for is entirely up to you, and each individual user, and not really for anyone here to say otherwise.

But the feature has to be implemented there first, Pistar by itself has no control over the server administration or access to the services setup in ur selfcare acc.
Instead pistar uses the API provided by BM to integrate with them.

Cannot convey the whole conversation here... Those who are in BM group have seen it.
Important is that AirSec is meant to be "a bitch" and compromise between security and convenience is hard to achieve, if not impossible.

Yes, saw ur conversation there. It's unfortunate that this past weekend saw the real need for this. But now knowing it's already part of the API is itself interesting.
