Change Master issue

Hi

If you change master we see an issue in DMR Gateway Configuration.

When you change to a new master the DMR Gate defaults back to default setting and removes any changes you have made.

At this time we have to go back each time and manually add back again.

Can this not be changed so it keeps the configuration we last used and not keep going back to default settings?

You can solve this issue yourself by NOT using the standard configuration settings page to edit your settings, just always use the Expert configuration to make any future changes and it will never overwrite the settings like what you are experiencing.

This is not the finding we see.
Yesterday the UK master went down and I swamped to the IRL master.
Then I had to go back to Expert settings DMR GW and re-enter the code.

A few hours letter when the master went live again I swapped back to the UK master.
And again I had to go back into Expert settings DMR GW and re-enter the code.

Also does not work if I SSH in and make the changes.

3 other Repeater keepers in this area is also seeing this issue and all do it in the manor you recommend.

I have been told off this one small example.

Network 3
You set it to on
Change master and now it is OFF.

This happens on 3 repeaters every time they need to change master.


For me lines of code/text just vanish

Norman if your making changes via the expert pages. You need to continue making changes from the expert pages. Futhur changes made on the pistar general config page can and will rewrite the changes you made in expert.

Once you start with expert panel, stay with expert panel.

So what your saying is, if I want to change master I have to-
1. Go find the Master IP address etc
2. Go to Expert DMR GW
3. Manually change the master info

What a pain in the ass that is for a Bug

Would be better to have a reset TAB you push for this -

The way it was designed is the standard configuration holds peoples hands behind the scenes and sets a number of settings correctly, based on one selection from the menu, so it makes it simple for new users to use and setup their hotspots.

So at the end off the day this will not be fixed and we just have to work around it.

Set up your configuration and SAVE IT as a back-up
Change configuration and save it as a second back-up
Repeat for each configuration you may use

Then use the restore feature to pick the configuration you need at any given time
