Reboot delay of 50 seconds too short for Pi-0 W

Post by AE5E »

When a reboot is commanded you are told that you will reconnect to the dashboard in 50 seconds.

This always succeeds with my Pi-3's, but rarely succeeds with my Pi-0 W's units. I think that setting this up to 60 seconds may be adequate for Pi-0 W's. Or ideally make this a parameter which the user can set.

Yes of course!

Which is why I am asking that the reboot delay be increased, and ideally be something the user can set.

It can usefully be set to a bigger value because the page will reload as soon as the Pi restarts.

50 seconds is a bit short, I would reckon on 70 as a better number but equally 90 would work without problems.

It's in a script somewhere, if someone finds it then suggest you post a patch here and Andy will probably make use of it.

F5 works too.

You are correct, I just tend to think of it as a script.

By the look of it, the timeout should be easy to modify.

Andrew M1DNS says he's working on something that will please everyone but that it's not ready yet.

Your guess is as good as mine, I thought I saw some evidence of new things but they are as yet just placeholders.

My guess is he is even busier now that he has taken on the BM UK server.
News to me, where did you find that out? I did some Googling and agree that he has, but there is a lot of secrecy within the groups that run things in amateur radio and I don't think it's a good thing.

Somewhere online in one of the various forums and groups.

Theres nothing we can do about it.
I've thought pretty much the same for much of my 4 decades of being licensed.
