Transcoding Gain Control

Post by W9DWH »

When transcoding DMR2YSF the System Fusion users complain about the audio being too hot. Would it be possible to implement a gain control, per mode, so that we can leave our DMR gain as is but cut or boost the audio coming out of the transcoder?

We don't transcode, there is no AMBE device onboard.
What we do is unwrap the DMR data from that radio, stripping off the meta data like DMR IDs and gift wrap it as a YSF packet, adding back the YSF meta data; exactly because we don't transcode we also cant modify the audio gain. Yaesu chose a much different value to the DMR world, so yes you do get that difference sadly :(
