(( Zumspot USB Stick )) HELP - Which Version Do I Get

Post by KB0OXD »

Hi guys

Just got the Zumspot USB Stick from HRO the other day & while I managed to get it working (BlueDV has already established this fact), the fact is BlueDV isn't NEARLY as in depth as in the setup as PI-STAR appears to be (In fact, BlueDV DOES NOT cover C4FM, P25, NXDN or DAPNET (Better known as POCSAG), which is what are Zumspot seemingly has support for

My question is WHICH VERSION of PI-STAR do I get?? Does it already have it on there?? If so, HOW do I get to it (Every time I attempt to go to http://pistar/ my preferred search always gets in the way as if I was trying to find out what http://10.0.0.1 was or something)

If PI STAR IS NOT on the board (I have Board 3 BTW), then I need to know what version to get so I can put SOMETHING ELSE that has A MORE COMPLETE SETUP than what BlueDV has (Not to mention something that pulls from ALL the talkgroups instead of just the MOST BASIC ones)

I look forward to your replies :)

Cheers & 73

Well I already got a Zumspot USB Stick which has a board in it (I have Board 3) so that should count (Especially when you consider the Zumspot comes with instructions on how to set up PI-STAR)

If by board 3, you mean a Raspberry Pi 3B, then you can download one of these Pi-Star images:
Pi-Star_RPi_V3.4.17_20-Jan-2019.zip (http://www.pistar.uk/downloads/)
Pi-Star_RPi_V4.1.0-RC1_02-Jul-2019.zip (BETA: http://www.pistar.uk/beta/)
Note: If the board is a 3B+, then you must use the BETA image.

When you are configuring Pi-Star, in the General Configuration section, for the Radio/Modem Type, select: ZUMspot - USB stick
