Need Help

Post by N0MIS » Fri Sep 14, 2018 12:35 am

I am getting information below everytime I do "rpi-rw". Please advice.

Pi-Star's disk is read-only by default, enable read-write with "rpi-rw".
Pi-Star built by Andy Taylor (MW0MWZ), pi-star tools all start "pistar-".

-bash: /usr/share/bash-completion/bash_completion: Structure needs cleaning
-bash: /usr/share/bash-completion/bash_completion: Structure needs cleaning
[email protected](ro):~$ rpi-rw
mount: / not mounted or bad option

In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so.
[email protected](ro):~$

Please copy-n-paste the results of the "mount" command. Of particular interest are the lines starting with "/dev/mmcblk0" (the microSD card) which are the / (...p2) and /boot/ (...p1) partitions. Let's look to see a line like the following:

/dev/mmcblk0p2 on / type ext4 (ro,noatime,data=ordered)

to verify if the Linux root partition is indeed mounted, contrary to the error you indicated. One should also
grep dev /etc/fstab
to see if the partition is listed for mounting, and with what options. You should see:

/dev/mmcblk0p1 /boot vfat defaults,ro 0 2
/dev/mmcblk0p2 / ext4 defaults,noatime,ro 0 1

If it isn't mounted after a boot then you'll probably want to just burn a new Pi-Star image onto the card and re-configure, which isn't difficult.
