You can change them here, change the value after the = sign.

Yes exactly, if you are in MMDVMHost mode, it restarts MMDVMHost and ircDDBGateway, in DStarRepeater mode it restarts DStarRepeater and ircDDBGateway

All, is there a way to include * as the keeper for the callsign list? We live in a small town and if the repeater messes up or we need the PI to use the backup routing because our internet goes down then it needs to be restarted. I would like anyone in the club to be able to send the restart command to the repeater not just my callsign. Thanks for any help.

Do you have HT's that can handle multiple id's? If so, could you just simply set a channel or two in the codeplugs to use a common id (like the repeater's own id) for the restart commands?

Could there be DMR / APRS MESSAGE based remote solution.

Basically pi-start should fetch all incoming DMR messages and foward them
directly to aprs. server. YES, listen mesages directed to hotspot/repeater.

Also reaceive and foward messages from aprs.

After that mechanism you could easyly remote controll wide network.
There could chalange password mechanism ? At hamspirit no!

This makes possible to more services to ornage pi /raspebyry pi
whit pi-star,... weather services, other remote controll,...

I personally think this HOSTFILE update feature is great for those who would like to update their hostfiles, in the car for instance, when not using a web-GUI for control.

What is the difference between SVCKILL and Shutdown? They both just "stop" the pi and require a power cycle to get it back up. Both commands appear to do the same thing...confusing.

Svckill shuts down services but leaves the pi up. So the pi is still running.

Shutdown, does what it says on the tin. Powers down the pi.
