Is there an equivalent for GETIP with DMR or any of the other modes?

Any plans to add additional capabilities? Being able to get an audio or text report on what network(s) you’re connected to, talkgroups/reflectors you’re connected to would be great!

Thanks again for everything you do!

Set the UR field to match what you set in the remote config and it should work.

The answer is Text message and ONLY works in D-Star.
That's exactly what I did, but I don't get a text message with the IP address. 8BALL worked. Is the message 8BALL returns what you consider a text message?

I’ll test this on V4 build too but no reason for me to think it shouldn’t work...

My D-Star hotspot is running on V3.4 at the moment....

Found a bug in the remote code, the text transmit binary name had changed in the new ircDDBGateway builds - modified the Pi-Star remote process to be able to find it - next time you update your Pi-Star v4 builds they will get textual answers from D-Star commands (so GETIP and 8BALL etc will all work properly and the reboot/shutdown etc will all give you text feedback again.

Since the RF remote commands only work in D-Star per Andy's post, and SHUTDOWN/REBOOTPI both work and have 8 characters, one wonders whether GETIP should be padded with 3 blank spaces?

That's a good idea, but I can verify what Andy posted: it's actually working now since this morning's update.

I am running Pi-Star:4.0.0-RC3 / Dashboard:20190127
I have getip=GETIP in the PiStar-Remote field under [d-star]

I am still not getting the text showing the IP. I must be doing something wrong.

The text feedback was not working on Pi-Star 4.x at all - since the IP address come back as text (as does 8BALL) neither were doing anything.
However that is now fixed up, the other commands happen to be 8 Chars, but it should not matter.

Make sure you unlink from any reflector you might have been listening too - set the UR field to "GETIP" and press the PTT - it might take up to 30 secs to answer, you will only get the IP back as text, so watch the radio...
