wifi password

Post by w2eck » Tue May 14, 2019 1:38 pm

Running Rasp Pi 3 with Pi-Star 3.4.17. "Pi-Star" shows up on a wifi sig scan, but can't sign into it because don't have correct password. Can someone tell me where in Pi-Star config, I find the password or change it?

Are you sure that is not "pi-star setup"?

Normally a configured unit will be a WiFi client and connects to a router, and you access it via the router. The only time you would connect to it as an access point is if it does not discover an Internet connection (ie; WiFi connection is not configured, and no Ethernet cable connects the unit to a router) -- and if it goes into access point mode, the WiFi SSID is "pi-star setup" (or similar).

In that mode, the password is, I believe, the same one you use to SSH into a running unit (default: raspberry). I've never used the access point configuration -- I find it much easier to just run a cable from my router direct to the unit.

All Default passwords are raspberry.
Access to pistar setup AP is raspberry.
Access to pistar dashboard is raspberry.
Only when you changed them to something different, are they not raspberry ;-)
