buying a Ferrari to drive 50 feet to the mailbox.
Sounds like fun to me.
It would need a trailer hitch for me to want it.

So moving forward, are you saying that version 4.1 won't run on older hardware? Or am I reading this wrong?
Reading it wrong, 4.1 is already tested on all models from Pi A/B (as in the original ones) up to Pi 3B+ (the newest thing I have currently).

Pi-Star 4.1 boots on all the current Raspberry Pi Foundation hardware I have, had some issues with it relating to NTP that have now been ironed out, I'd forgotten just how slow the original B model was compared to the Pi 3B+, WOW but hey that's progress I guess.

The image had grown quite a lot - so its been given a diet too, so far it looks good - I'll get an image out in a day or so for you guys to test with - that should land at roughly the same time as the Pi 4B orders start to land on your door mats.

Pi-Star V4.1.0-RC1 running on the Pi 4 hardware, 50C+ on the CPU temp while its doing nothing, the new dash wont be able to bring that down :( I think we will all need heatsinks with this board!

If you're looking for a higher-quality and quieter 5V fan, this is a good candidate:

Andy, is the upgrade process similar to the one for 3.4.x to 4.0.x?

Anyone else managed to make this work on a Pi Zero W? It was fine with 4.0.0-RC4 but doesn't seem to come up on my WLAN despite dropping the wpa_supplicant.conf in the root directory. I had a look at the card and this file is gone but I don't see anything requesting an IP address from my DHCP server. I use ethernet MACs to map to fixed IP addresses, my other two Pi Zero Ws are showing up fine with 4.0.0-RC4 updated to latest daily.

Thoughts?
